Is transportation included?
Yes. Transportation from the Mokulele Airport to and from the accommodations and any transportation to and from hunting locations or other activities during your stay are included.
What licenses or permits are required?
All hunters must have a Hawaii hunting license and an Axis deer tag. Upon booking, more details and guidance will be provided.
Do I need to tip my guide?
Tipping is appreciated; 10–20% is standard.
Are meals provided?
Yes, all meals will be provided by your hosts.
Will meals accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, please inform us in advance.
How many days will we be hunting?
Hunts are set up for 2 days.
What if I miss or wound an animal?
All wounded game is counted as game harvested.
Is airfare included in the hunt cost?
No, airfare is not included. Guests are responsible for booking their own flights.

What time will we be hunting in the morning?
We will leave for our hunts at 5:00 AM
What’s included in the hunt?
The package consists of two days of guided hunting by professionals, no high fence, this is fair chase hunting, and optional firearms and binoculars available to rent at an additional charge if you choose. Meat preparation includes bagging and labeling. All meat will be frozen and stored in the outfitter's freezer until your departure. Trophy preparation includes cleaning and cutting the shoulder cape of your trophy and antlers.
What is the success rate on this hunt?
There is a 90% success rate on this axis deer hunt.

Moloka’i, Hawaii.
Will I be sharing a room?
Yes, participants will have double occupancy.
What other costs am I responsible for?
Coolers/boxes for packing and shipping are required; 48-quart coolers are available for $25 each, which can hold 50 lbs or less as per most airline requirements. Shipping costs are typically done through FedEx and require an account. Gratuity is also appreciated. An optional cultural hike to Halawa Valley Falls is available for $75 per person at the guests' expense.
What is the cost of this retreat?
The total cost of this guided hunt with meals, accommodations, and activities included is $5,997 (4 spots available) and will be split over 3 payments that will be invoiced and sent to the contact email you provide upon booking. Payment 1 ($1,999) is due at the time of booking. Payment 2 ($1,999)is due 3/15/2025. Payment 3 ($1,999) is due 5/15/2025.
Will I be charged interest or fees if I don’t pay in full?
No, the total cost can be split into three payments without additional fees. However, unpaid invoices after the due date will incur a $25 per day processing fee.
How do I reserve a spot for the hunt?
Simply book your spot by adding the hunt to your cart and completing the checkout process.
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your deposit to another participant or receive a 75% credit (of your payment) toward a 2026 HOJ event. In the unlikely event that the guides need to cancel, you will receive a full refund.
Will there be Wi-Fi and cell service at the accommodations?
Wi-Fi will be available at the accommodations, but cell service may vary depending on the provider.
Is this hunt open to both archery and rifle hunting?
Yes, you can hunt with either.
Do I need to bring my own gun/bow?
We recommend bringing your own weapon. However, rifles and binoculars can be provided at an additional cost. Bow rentals are not available.
Do I need to be a certain age to attend?
Participants must be 18 years or older.
Will there be any free time?
Yes, the retreat includes downtime for relaxation, connection with others, and soaking up Hawaiian culture.
