What is the main focus of the retreat?

The 2025 Moab Natural Horsemanship Clinic is focused on teaching foundational horsemanship skills.

 

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is designed for women seeking to learn the basics of horsemanship or refresh their skills. 

 

Do I need experience with any of these activities?

No prior experience is necessary. The clinic is beginner-friendly, and guidance will be provided throughout.

 

Will there be any free time?

While there will be natural opportunities for relaxation, there is no designated free time scheduled for this retreat.

 

How physically demanding are the activities?

Activities are light to moderate, suitable for beginners. If you have specific concerns, please let us know in advance.

 

Will I have my own horse to work with, or will we be rotating horses?

Participants will likely work with the same horse throughout the clinic, allowing you to develop a connection and build confidence with one horse.

 

What time will we need to arrive at the arena each morning?

Plan to arrive at the arena by 10 a.m. on both March 21 and 22. 

 

Will I be sharing a room?

Yes, guests will share rooms with other participants.

The clinic will take place at the Old Spanish Trail Arena in Moab, Utah.

 

What are the accommodation amenities?

The accommodations feature a fully stocked kitchen, three spacious bedrooms, two luxury bathrooms, and a private patio with a hot tub and outdoor dining area. Guests can enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, upgraded smart TVs, central heating and air conditioning, and ample parking for vehicles and trailers. 

 

What’s the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Grand Junction Airport. 

 

What are our transportation guidelines?

Transportation to the retreat location and to and from the arena is not included, but carpooling with hosts will be available whenever possible.

 

How many people will be at the retreat?

The retreat is limited to four guests, plus your host Juli.

Are meals included?

Yes, all meals are included and prepared by your host(s).

 

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Dietary preferences can be accommodated. Please let us know your needs in advance so adjustments can be made.

 

Booking and Payments

 

What is the cost of this retreat?

The total cost of the trip is $2,198 and will be split over 2 payments of $1,099 that will be invoiced and sent to the contact email you provide upon booking. Payment 1 is due at the time of booking. Payment 2 is due 3/15/2025. 

 

How do I reserve a spot for the retreat?

Simply book your spot by adding the retreat you would like to attend to your cart and pressing the check out button.

 

What is the cancellation policy?

If you are unable to make the trip for any reason you are able to transfer your deposit to another lady or receive a 75% credit to use for a 2026 HOJ event. In the unlikely event that your guides have to cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund!

Will there be Wi-Fi and cell service at the accommodations?: Yes, Wi-Fi is available at the accommodations, however cell service may vary depending on the provider.

No special tags or licenses are required for this clinic, but all participants will need to sign a waiver.

Do we need to sign a waiver?: Yes, all participants will be required to sign a waiver before attending the retreat and engaging in any activities, plus an additional waiver for the arena.
