Welcome to the Women’s Long-Range Shooting Course, an empowering, skills-based weekend designed exclusively for women who are ready to master the fundamentals of long-range marksmanship. Whether you’re brand new to shooting or looking to sharpen your skillset, this course offers a supportive, inclusive environment where confidence and competence grow together.

 

Set against the stunning backdrop of Eastern Washington’s Palouse River region, this weekend retreat blends expert instruction with hands-on range time, community connection, and personal challenge.

 

This course is designed for women of all experience levels—whether you're brand new to firearms or have always wanted to confidently shoot out to 500, 600, or even 1,000 yards. You belong here.

 

Classroom Instruction Covers:

  • Fundamentals of long-range marksmanship

  • Scope mounting and proper setup

  • Understanding MOA, MIL, and first vs. second focal plane reticles

  • Introduction to ballistic calculators and long-range shooting apps

  • Equipment selection and system maintenance best practices

 

Hands-On Range Training Focuses On:

  • Live-fire drills emphasizing long-range fundamentals

  • Basic positional shooting (prone and supported positions)

  • Optics operation: dialing for distance, windage, and elevation adjustments

  • Real-world application of classroom knowledge

 

Participants can expect to fire approximately 100–125 rounds over the course of the weekend. This course is perfect for beginners and those looking to build a solid foundation before advancing further into the world of long-range shooting.

Scenic and serene, this high-caliber facility along the Palouse River provides the perfect setting for focused learning and outdoor inspiration.

 

Accommodations: Enjoy cozy, ranch-style lodging with a full kitchen and bath. The home features three private rooms and one shared room with three beds. Bedding and towels are provided.

 

Meals: Delicious, home-cooked meals are included. All dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.

Do I need any experience?
Nope! This course is built for beginners as well as intermediate shooters.

 

Can I bring my own gun or will one be provided? 

Yes, you can bring your own gun--if you do please also bring ammo. Otherwise a gun and ammo will be provided for you to use.

 

Will I be sharing a room?
Some guests will share the triple room; others will have a private room. All rooms are cozy and comfortable with bedding and towels provided.

 

Is transportation included?
No, guests are responsible for getting to and from the retreat location.

 

Is airfare included?
No. Airfare is not included in the retreat cost.

 

Where is the nearest airport?
Spokane International Airport (GEG), WA

 

Are meals included?
Yes—all meals are included throughout the weekend.

 

Can you accommodate dietary needs?
Yes! Just let us know during registration and we’ll take care of you.

What’s the refund policy?
If you can’t attend, you may transfer your spot or receive a 75% credit for a future HOJ event. If we need to cancel the retreat, you’ll receive a full refund.

 

What should I pack?
We’ll send a detailed packing list after you register.

 

Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
Service is limited—enjoy unplugging! We recommend preparing for little to no cell or Wi-Fi access.

 

Is there an age requirement?
Yes, all participants must be 18 years or older.
