Embark on exhilarating activities, including, an unforgettable helicopter glacier tour, and refreshing glacier-cold plunge – don’t worry, that part is optional. You’ll cast your lines and reel up some of Alaska's most sought after fish, enjoy incredible hikes with breathtaking views, witness majestic bears in their natural habitat during guided viewing excursions, and so much more! To cap off your daily adventures, unwind and rejuvenate in our luxurious accommodations, soaking in the tranquility surrounding you.

Outdoor Activities: scenic hiking (all levels welcome), helicopter glacier tour, guided bear viewing tour, guided ocean fishing,  exploring Alaska beautiful land, yard games, bonfire nights + s’mores, and so much more!

 

Relaxation & Connection: take some time to soak it in and unwind in our captivating accommodations, or grab a coffee and enjoy a good book or time to connect with the other incredible women on this adventure. 


Accommodations: comfortable lodging in our beautiful home(s) surrounded by nature—space to unwind, breathe, and enjoy slower rhythms together. We will have the pleasure of staying in different places around the state from Anchorage to Seldovia.

Do I need experience with any of these activities?
No prior experience is necessary. 

 

Will there be any free time?
Yes, certain days will include designated free time for participants to relax, explore independently, or engage in additional activities.

 

Will I be sharing a room?
Yes, participants will be sharing rooms.

 

Where is the retreat held?
The retreat starts and ends near Anchorage and will take us to various beautiful locations throughout Alaska. 

 

What are the accommodation amenities?
Participants will enjoy comfortable and inspiring lodging with amenities that allow them to relax and unwind after a day of adventure.

 

What’s the nearest airport?
Anchorage, Alaska. (ANC)

 

What are our transportation guidelines?
Transportation to and from the Anchorage airport will be provided for guests during the retreat between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. If you plan to arrive or depart outside of those hours, you will need to arrange your own transportation.

 

Is airfare cost included in the retreat?
No, airfare cost is not included.

 

How many people will be at the retreat?
The retreat will accommodate 8 guests.

 

Are meals included?
Yes.

 

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, dietary restrictions will be accommodated as best as possible. 

 

How do I reserve a spot for the retreat?
Simply book your spot by adding the retreat you would like to attend to your cart and pressing the checkout button.

 

Do you offer internal payment plans?

All payment plans are currently processed through our trusted third-party providers at checkout. If you are unable to use any of the third-party options listed, but would still like to set up a payment plan, please email us at info@heroutdoorjourney.com and we’ll be happy to help explore alternatives.

 

What is the refund and cancellation policy?
If you are unable to make the trip for any reason, you may transfer your deposit to another woman or receive 75% of your payment as a credit to use for a 26/27 HOJ event. In the unlikely event that your guides must cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund.

 

What should I bring for the activities?
A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking.

 

Will there be Wi-Fi and cell service at the accommodation?
While Wi-Fi may be available in some accommodations, cell service can be limited in remote areas during the retreat.

 

Are there any additional charges?
You will need to get a fishing license. Additionally, if you want to bring your fish home, you will need to have it processed and frozen (see below for details).

 

What is the cost for fish processing?
The cost of processing and packaging is approximately $2.65 per pound. You will also need to purchase a fish box (usually around $25) or buy a cooler from the store for travel.

 

Can I fly home with my fish?
Yes, you can check fish as one of your luggage items with your airline. We will make sure it is frozen before you travel. You can purchase a fish box from the fish processor.

 

What do I tip my guide?
While tipping is optional, it is greatly appreciated by our hardworking guides and hosts. A 10%–20% gratuity based on your retreat cost is standard.

 

Do I need to be a certain age to attend?
This retreat is for guests 18 years and older.
