EP 001 - The Her Inspired "Why"
After almost a year and a half of rolling around the idea of creating a podcast all for women, and fighting the idea, I finally couldn't avoid it any longer.
Everywhere I looked, it was staring me down and coming back to the center of my attention. Truth be told, I don't even love to talk, I don't like to hear myself speak, and I am an introvert through and through. I'd much rather listen, write, or keep myself awkwardly on the back of the bus, but it's hard to argue with what you know you have been called to do. So, here begins the start of the Her Inspired Journey Podcast - a show I know, that will come in and inspire those who it is meant to.
I moved to a small Oregon town when I was 11, and came in like a freight train as an apparent outsider. Needless to say my junior high, and high school years were as bad as they could be. I was made fun of, bullied by many, and carried around a lot of teenage baggage that would stick around much longer than I would have liked.
From sixteen on I fell into a pretty dark depression, lost sight of who I was, and completely bypassed the "fun" teenage years. I was a bonafide train wreck, and I knew it, but I couldn't find my way out.
Years passed and I went on the relentless up and down rollercoaster of depression. I had no clue what self worth felt like, I didn't love myself, let alone like myself most of the time, and the path my life was on was a time bomb waiting to explode.
Now, let me bypass the rest of those chapters, not for trying to save my dignity but for coming back full circle - I truly know that EVERYTHING in life happens for a reason, and decades later I found the reasons to my struggle and I didn't know just how valuable they would become.
I have spent the last 15 years working with men and women to regain control of their lives, battle and beat depression, control and overcome anxiety, and learn to love themselves through the unique journey they are on. Something I would not be able to do without the rocky path I ventured down for so long.
As we take the Her Inspired Journey together we will talk about life, goals, motivation, hunting, enjoying the outdoors, family, fitness, health, mindset and much more. My mission and vision for life is to speak words of positivity into those who need it the most, and allow others to flourish from what used to be my black cloud.
I invite you to come along for the ride, grasp on to the bits and pieces along the way that fill your cup, find some inspiration, dive into this powerful community and truly enjoy the ride - you'll be glad that you did.
